Case study 1: Peace of mind
Like most retailers, Kiwi Disposals was often targeted by shoplifters. As the South Pacific’s largest military surplus store, Kiwi Disposals stocks a wide range of new and used army surplus goods, clothing and equipment in its Christchurch and Auckland outlets.
Manager Marie Asbury says the extent to which shrinkage was due to shoplifting only became apparent after ADT’s Sensormatic retail security solution was installed.
“Things were walking out the door but we have caught several shoplifters since putting the Sensormatic system in,” she says.
“It has freed up my staff to get on with their jobs and now they no longer have to spend time ‘staring down’ people who are acting suspiciously.”
The new system has been so successful that Ms Asbury says it will pay for itself in no time at all.
“Better still, we now have peace-of-mind knowing that our stock is safe.”

Case study 2: Great results
Installing an ADT Sensormatic retail security system has saved the Mad Butcher’s North Shore outlet time, hassle and money.
“We knew there was a shoplifting issue but we didn’t realize how substantial it was until the system was installed,” says Franchisee, Zane MacBeth.
“The store has been generating much better results since Sensormatic went in.”
Zane was surprised to discover the extent to which Sensormatic acted as a deterrent. On many occasions suspicious looking people have loitered outside, looking at goods through the window, only to turn back upon entering the store and spotting the security pedestals.
“This deterrence is great because it saves us the time and hassle of having to deal with someone who has been caught shoplifting. Now would-be offenders simply go away.”
Testimonial
“Sensormatic is cost-effective, easy to use and pays for itself in no time.”
