Meeting unique needs

Providing personal protection for employees and visitors is at the forefront of Armourguard’s security work at 154 Work and Income New Zealand (WINZ) sites nationwide.

Although static guards are placed at each site, it is not a case of “one size fits all”. Armourguard recognises that every site has its own unique needs that reflect the communities in which they are located. These needs are taken into account when selecting communities in which they are located. These needs are taken into account when selecting guards to be placed on WINZ sites.

Armourguard also provides a personal supervision service for young people (aged 0 to 16 years) who are in CYPS (Children and Young Persons Service) care. Guards may be required to protect the young person from harm or unapproved contact, or they may be asked to escort troubled youth to prevent inappropriate behaviour.

These delicate assignments require the right mix of respect, courtesy, experience and determination. As a result, Armourguard carefully chooses the right guard for an individual child’s situation.

This approach has paid dividends on many occasions, including the time when a guard was required the escost a frequent truant to school. The boy’s attitude quickly transformed from hostile reluctance, to regular school attendance.
