A fast, accurate noise control service
Excessive and unwanted noise is New Zealand’s biggest form of pollution. Like many other cities, Palmerston North’s noise complaints increase by more than 20 percent per annum.
It’s not that people are necessarily getting noisier, explains the council’s Head of Environmental Protection Services, Wayne Jameson. The growth in complaints arises from the council’s efforts to educate residents about getting noise problems resolved.
The council takes a hard-line on noise offenders. Armourguard’s professional yet respectful approach means that noisemakers usually comply without further problems, and complainants are happy about how effectively and efficiently the noise is stopped.
“I had expected a few complaints when the council decided to take a harder line on noise, yet Armourguard are obviously striking the right balance and issues have been few and far between,” says Wayne Jameson.
Palmerston North became one of New Zealand’s first local councils to use Armourguard’s fully automated noise control technology, which shortens the time between when a local council receives a noise complaint, and an Armourguard noise control officer attends the job.
Automating the process enables Armourguard to deliver a faster and more accurate service, while reducing the time, complexity and double handling involved in processing a noise complaint.
