Summer sounds not always so sweet
Excessive noise can be a real problem in popular holiday locations whose populations swell hugely during the summer season. Tauranga and neighbouring Mt Manganui and Papamoa, are no exception.
During the course of a year, Armourguard completed more than 2000 noise complaint responses for Tauranga City Council – almost half of which were during the November to February summer season.
Although Friday and Saturday nights are the busiest times, Armourguard responds to complaints at any time of the day or night. Over summer extra resource is on hand to manage the extra workload and ensure a rapid response to noise complaints.
The economic recession seems to have played a part in an increase in noise complaints. Rather than going out on the town, people are economising by staying home to party. This has lead to louder, more aggressive parties.
The Armourguard noise control team is well equipped to deal with such situations and all noise control officers follow strict procedures to ensure that the situation is handled as calmly and safely as possible.
