Superb seaside security
Careful planning meant the event ran without a hitchIt was all good: sea, sand, sunshine – plus sponsors, 1000 spectators and 2000 people hoping to hook the ‘big one’. The annual Beach & Boat Fishing Competition, held in Ruakaka, Whangarei, is big news on the local event calendar.
Armourguard provided round the clock guard services for the three-day event, which featured fishing during the day and prize giving and entertainment at night. Our services included:
- Ticket checking
- Crowd management and dispersion
- Assisting with identifying intoxicated/underage persons and removing them safely from the venue
- Keeping the venue, vehicles, boat, trailers and equipment secure
- Assisting with parking management
- Evacuation and other safety precautions.
The event presents many security challenges due to its varied requirements, and because the combination of alcohol and thousands of people can potentially lead to trouble. Careful planning meant the event ran without a hitch.
