A team with many talents

Armourguard’s Transitwise team’s primary role is to undertake service audits on the Go Wellington and Valley Flyer bus services.
 
Transitwise is part of the Wise brands, which operate in other sections of the Wellington City Council.  Weekly information shared by Walkwise city safety ambassadors, Parkwise parking enforcement, Wellington City Council and NZ Police is vital in reducing crime in the city and promoting the feeling that Wellington is a safe place to live. All Wise ambassadors are in constant radio contact with each other, providing feedback for the other departments about people of interest, parking issues and people in need of assistance.
 
Transitwise provides a wide range of services and reporting for the bus companies, including:

  • passenger fraud prevention by ensuring people have paid correct fares for their travel and/or personal circumstances (e.g. student, pensioner, etc)
  • driver fraud prevention by auditing tickets issued versus cash balances
  • ensuring high service standards, including driver uniforms, buses display correct destinations, buses are clean and tidy, etc
  • bus punctuality.

Every month the Transitwise team travels approximately 5 percent of Go Wellington and Valley Flyer’s 60,000 bus routes and checks up to 15,000 passengers.

The bus companies are provided with comprehensive reports on a wide range of matters, which helps them to further refine the service delivery and identify key areas of focus.  As a result, Transitwise is often asked to hone in on particular aspects, such as school children’s behaviour, bus punctuality, etc.
