Airwise Team Back And Brighter Than Ever

ADT Armourguard’s Airwise team at Auckland International Airport are now easier to spot thanks to their stylish new uniforms.
 
The 15 Airwise team members who provide traffic and taxi management, and emergency assistance support at the airport stepped into their new uniforms, following the recent renewal of a contract between Auckland Airport and ADT Armourguard.
 
The existing contract, which has been extended until the end of June 2012, will see ADT Armourguard continue to provide traffic marshals and support services at the airport.
 
Auckland Airport’s Commercial Operations Manager- Transport, Martyn Brewer, said the Airwise team were keen to increase their visibility as a way of continuing to improve customer service.
 
“The Airwise team do a great job ensuring that we maintain a high level of service to our customers. We wanted to complement that good work by enhancing their image and, therefore, proposed the introduction of new uniforms as part of the contract renewal.
 
“The stylish uniforms are unlike any other being worn at airports around the country. The new lighter and brighter uniforms feature a Pasifika design, capturing the cultural diversity of New Zealand – particularly within the Auckland region.”
 
Already, Auckland Airport has had a busy start to the year.  In January, the single largest weekly passenger volume ever was recorded.
 
“For the week ending 10 January 2010, a record 154,000 international travellers passed through the airport,” Martyn said.
 
“With such a high volume, it’s crucial that customers knew where to go for help and traffic flows at drop off and pick up points are effectively managed.  Our high visibility traffic marshals will go a long way towards helping to ensure that that process is a smooth one.”
