ADT Armourguard Appoints Training Officer
ADT Armourguard has appointed Daniel Van Der Merwe to the position of Training Officer.
In the newly created role, Daniel will be responsible for meeting various requirements of the soon to be passed amended Private Security Personnel and Private Investigators Act. He will develop and implement training strategies to enhance services provided by ADT Armourguard Security Officers..
Daniel has 38 years experience within the security industry both in New Zealand and South Africa. Prior to joining ADT Armourguard, Daniel worked in a management position overseeing staff training at Chubb Security. Other previous roles have included various senior management positions including Senior Loss Prevention Manager for the southern hemisphere’s largest retail organisation – Hyperama. He was also Stock and Quality Control Officer at the Port of Durban in South Africa. Daniel has retail, guarding, patrols, cash in transit, close protection and undercover experience, as well as event security and security investigations knowledge.
The Private Security Personnel and Private Investigators Act 2010 is expected to come into force on 1 April 2011. It will require all security personnel to hold licences and certificates of approval, and to abide by a code of conduct.
