Being one of New Zealand’s largest security company has given us a deep understanding of – and connections with – local communities the length and breadth of the country. It is with these connections that we are able to address the needs of our community, and supporting them in various initiatives that we can be proud of.
Armourguard are a supporting sponsor of this local Hawke's Bay initiative overseen by Craggy Range. A Children’s Christmas was launched as a response to rising concern for child welfare in Hawke’s Bay, where an estimated 23% of children are living below the poverty line, many of them experiencing extreme hardship. Since inception, contributions by local businesses and members of the community have enabled the purchase of gift sacks for over 5000 children which included long-lasting, educational, and active items tailored to age groups from toddlers to teenagers such as trikes, scooters, sporting balls, school bags, books, and stationery. It’s the third year in a row that Armourguard have both sponsored this event, and volunteered to pack and deliver the gift sacks.
Armourguard are a pround sponsor of the 'Operation Nest Egg' initiative with the wildlife centre at Franz Josef and the Department of Conservation (DOC). Operation Nest Egg’s purpose is to grow kiwi to 1 kg in weight, which is the size that they can defend themselves against their number one predator – the stoat. Getting to this body weight takes between six and eight months. Kiwi eggs are brought to the wildlife centre by DOC, whose rangers monitor the birds in the wild and collect newly-laid eggs. The centre then incubates the eggs, hatches the chicks and rears them indoors to four weeks of age. The West Coast Wildlife Centre named the chick 'Armourguard' as a token of appreciation for our sponsorship support.
Our Palmerston North branch partnered with the non-profit organisation Eat Up NZ to support their local schools to provide lunches for hungry kids. Our team worked together to provide over 1000 sandwiches for the community.
Armourguard has partnered with local lifeguards at the Taranaki Surf Lifesaving Resue to provide sponsorship support to help maintain their equipment and provide training to their volunteers.
Last year we provided sponsorship and free security services to Napier’s Riding for the Disabled event fundraiser. The involvement of our local team ensured the event ran smoothly, and the sponsorship provided enabled Napier RDA to raise much needed funds.
We have been using Armourguard’s services for over four years now and have been very happy; the decision to roll-over their contract recently was an easy one to make.
We take great pride in our professional approach to all matters and I view our security services partner as an extension of ourselves. Your Whangarei branch team were thoroughly professional at all times during the event; I have never received so much positive feedback from entrants and sponsors in relation to any other security firm we have used in the past. I very much look forward to working Armourguard Whangarei again.
