People

Diversity in every sense – people, roles, responsibilities and sites

We have one of the largest frontline security teams in the country. Our people work in all sorts of places from hospitals, embassies and shopping centers to stadiums and warehouses as well as on construction sites and in public spaces.  Our team makes sure people, businesses and assets are safe, they keep ATMs stocked, transport cash from one point to another, count and process cash.

It takes all sorts in our business.  But they all have a few things in common – they are people with heart, who are dependable, consistent, face up to challenges, show respect and courtesy and are committed to our communities.

Meet some of our team

Ursula, Senior Security Guard Supervisor

My job involves looking after 57 security guards across 13 sites. My first security guard job was as a static guard seven years ago. That involved working as a static guard part time doing ad hoc work at night and weekend work – mostly for the banks. After a year I got promoted to join the Senior Supervisor team.

I enjoy working for Armourguard because it feels like a family and the people are great to work with – we are all one team.

A security career is a good job for a female. I feel it has brought me out of my shell, giving me more courage and independence. It has showed me I can deal with different situations. I think we females do the job just as good – or better – than the males!

Sagar, Senior Security Guard Supervisor

As a senior supervisor I am responsible for the day-to-day security operations at Auckland Transport network. I originally joined Armourguard as a roster co-ordinator supporting our security team in Auckland. From there I was promoted to Night Supervisor and then Senior Supervisor.

I’m really glad that Armourguard has invested in upskilling and training us, and I am currently training for Co-ordinator Incident Management Systems Level 4. My team and I get daily opportunities to help people in the wider community. It can be as simple as showing someone the direction or helping Police and parents to find missing kids.

I really enjoy making a difference to people’s lives. And I’ve met some amazing people at work.  We have a really diverse team that respects and celebrates each other’s cultures.

The company really cares for our staff and builds strong relationships with them. A lot of time, effort and money goes into upskilling our people for their security career progression. If you are looking for a job in security then come and talk to us today!

We take great pride in our professional approach to all matters and I view our security services partner as an extension of ourselves. Your Whangarei branch team were thoroughly professional at all times during the event; I have never received so much positive feedback from entrants and sponsors in relation to any other security firm we have used in the past. I very much look forward to working Armourguard Whangarei again.

Armourguard are customer-driven and provide us with exactly what we want. They have performed their noise control duties in a very ambassadorial manner and do a good job of enforcing compliance in a respectful manner. I highly recommend them.
